My roommates and I got about that much back when we turned in our empties at the end of the summer. We only get deposits back for beer cans/bottles. Seemed like not very much beer for five people over four months, at 10 cents per bottle.

What’s the deposit on cans in Ca?
It’s .05 here in Iowa but most stores only accept $10 worth at a time. And they have to be rinsed out and clean externally.
